Hey all!

Very soon this blog will be hosted by my own .com! I’m trying to get all the stuff behind the scenes set up on this blog and my natural medicine blog; which is at times a bit difficult, as I don’t know that much about scripting languages, transferring, blog languages, domains, etc.

I really don’t want to go ‘hog wild’ as yet with any of my blogs, because it will just mean more work for me at a later date….if they’re not set up right.

Earlier this week I did some cleaning of my Squidoo dashboard. To date, I’ve given away 14 lenses and a group, and sold 7 lenses. I’ve deleted about 20. Now I’m at a total number of 69 lenses and 5 groups. Making my work at home efforts much more manageable! I’m kind of anxious to see what a fellow lensmaster will do with the Vitamins lenses, and another lensmaster with the Herb Garden Group. Now my total number of lenses (69) and their lens rankings average out between 5,000 LR and 6,500 LR. Pretty damned good, I think!

I haven’t checked the total today, but one of my lenses has been picked up by Colleges. The stats claim students all over the world are viewing my Dog Worms website/lens! I have no idea how it became a reference for Colleges, but am very proud that I created something of worth that others can use for information!!!! Kind of ironic, I think………Me-making something of use for teaching College Students-when my whole college experience totals up to 3 months!

The Colleges have also found my Dog Allergy website/lens, and it’s numbers of visitors has doubled! The number of visitors to the Dog Worm site was 1,079 last night, a number that counts the visitors from the last 7 days, although the Colleges found it 5 days ago. I expect the number of visitors will decline, as it is Saturday; but I’m hopin’ it will pick up again on Monday!

My world at home has so many things that needs to be taken care of that I get frustrated, resulting in me spinning round and round, with nothing getting completed. I have a family room that is nearly ‘gutted’, waiting on $$ for 2 sliding glass doors, roofing, and alot of carpenter work. The plan is to make it into my indoor greenhouse. I already have the windows that will be inserted on much of the roof. I have an extra bedroom that is next to the family room that I also want to incorporate into the ‘green room’ (indoor greenhouse). My other extra bedroom needs a makeover, as does the living room, dining room, and kitchen. My garage is filled nearly to the roof with furniture and stuff that is junk now, from the basement flooding. Gotta get it out of there, I contacted the garbage hauler, but their ‘farm truck’ is badly in need of repair, so they can’t haul it away for me. My truck has a lead-spring broken and all wheel ball-joints need replaced, so I can’t take smaller trips to the dump, or do much of anything with my truck, until my son gets the time to repair it. He’s already purchased the parts……..now it’s getting him to DO it. He’s the one that tore it up anyway, using it all winter to haul firewood.

Been waiting as patient as possible for my stimulus check. I need new fencing, among many other things. If you’ve taken the time to view My Flower Garden Squidoo lens, you’ll see a diagram and photos of my back yard. I’ve got a big dog, a medium sized dog, and a little dog. Their place in the backyard is fenced with what is called ‘field fence’. It has big squares, and can be manipulated if pushed on. One dog jumps it, and one dog goes thru the squares. Over the years, I’ve tried putting an electric wire all the way around the top, and chicken wire at the bottom. I’m tired of that. I want/need 200ft. of 5′ welded wire fence. All winter to the current date I’ve had to go outside with the dogs every time they needed to go outside. What a pain in the ass. If that check doesn’t come soon, I WILL scrape the funds from my work at home efforts, as I can’t handle it much longer.

Ok, that’s enough from me today……..I’m going outside. That damned dog pen that is not in use needs it’s first mowing of the season. Some of the grass is as tall as my knees already. After that, if I have any energy left, and have taken some of my pain pills, I need to start cleaning last years growth out of the flowerbeds.

I’ve been put in a frame of mind I cannot describe or get out of since reading Seth Godin’s Squidoo blog post. It hinted at a few things that I had suspicions of, as to the focus and agenda of Squidoo.

When I get in this type of mode, I search and search, reading articles, news, everything I can get my eyeballs on; until the subject has either been put to rest in my mind, or it spurs me onto creating a lens on the topic.

I’m afraid that our economy is going to get much worse. Some of us have already commented on the decline of commissions thru our Squidoo lenses. I think that if more would offer their stats, we may find that there is no one topic that is feeling the economic crunch. People are starting to think a bit before purchasing needless or frivolous items. They’re cutting back their purchases, saving that money for the rising costs of food, mortgage, and gas.

I have a lens that touches the subject, The Quality of Life; maybe that is why I’m spinning round and round, looking, and researching, because I know that the lens really doesn’t address the many times urgent needs of those that are being uprooted from our economy.

The lens itself is ok, I guess, but I want to reach people on a deeper level. I really want to be able to point a visitor to something that is more tangible than offering books that they could purchase. I’ve always heard the saying ‘you’ve got to spend money to make money’; but where’s the saying for people that need money and have none? I just don’t think it’s right of me to be trying to hawk books to people that really shouldn’t be spending their money.

I am so fortunate to have found Squidoo, as I have been able to earn a few hundred bucks a month, but before that time, I did not have an extra $20 dollar bill at the end of the month, so I know exactly how hard it is to live that way, and I don’t want to become one of those types of people that make internet ‘come-ons’, like ‘just spend _$_ amount of money, and this __ will take care of all your problems. That was always an insult to my intelligence, so I certainly don’t want to turn around and become like that.

I have another lens on the backburner of my Squidoo dashboard, and I suppose that’s another reason I’m in this mood. I’ve got to put about 7 days of work into it before I release the url to everyone. I realize that no matter how bad the economy gets, there will still be certain levels of society that will not be touched. Being on the low income end of society anyway, I’m used to being frugal, but many of us will be destroyed financially.

The new lens will be for those that haven’t had to drastically change their lifestyle because of the economy; and speaking purely with an ‘on-line’ view of life, those that are continously hunting for more income. I feel like I’m being sacreligious or something with this lens, but I guess I just have to remember that not everyone will be as deeply affected with our dropping economy as I will be.

Must be my time to take a serious look at my motivations and my morals; and how I want them to be portrayed online. I like to think of it as being pro-active and not hiding my head in the sand, oblivious to the world around me. I’m afraid the world may come to cutting out many of the products all of us push online, simply because ‘living’ expenses have to take priority, and I certainly don’t want to be spending my time promoting, pushing, what-ever you want to call it - products that seem utterly out of reach and ridiculous to most of society.

I am very proud of the natural medicine products that I’ve made websites on, and will continue to feature them. No matter how bad our economy gets, I will always believe that we can attain better health without ‘big pharma’s’ strong arm tactics with synthetic drugs’ harmful and dangerous side effects.

I never would have dreamed that my little Squidoo page of My Flower Garden would have climbed so high in Squidoo ranking! It has also been in Squidoo’s Top 100 lenses, and now it’s all the way up to #6. Really should take a copy of that ranking, as it probably won’t stay in that Animals & Nature rank very long! Are You Polar Bear Aware has had the #1 spot for a very long time, and is right on my tail, with the over-all ranking of #7.

I’ve updated the ‘My Flower Garden’ page to include a link to my RSS feed of my Flower Blog, which I just got done posting to, and a link to my Natural Medicine’s lens, since I really don’t have many ways to make a bit of money on the Flower Garden lens. Most of my afilliate income is from all the pages the Natural Medicine lens has featured.

I didn’t manage to sell my 20 dog collectible and dog lover gifts lenses at Squidoo, which meant that the Dog Collectibles HQ Group didn’t sell either, which is ranked by Google as a PR5. Oh well, have ta find another outlet for my much needed roof.

I’d like ya’ll to know that I also have 2 other blogs, a really purty one I’m proud of, to use for natural medicine, vitamins, and health articles; and a colorful one to use for my passion of flower gardening!

I’m prayerfully waiting on the possible sale of my 20 Dog Breed-Dog Lover Gifts lenses, and their Group lens. What could that sale mean to me? A New Roof for my home!

I got a reply to my email to another Squidoo buddy, everything is ok. I apologised to her for not emailing in the last 2 weeks or so. I told her that it has been particularly hard on me recently to try to portray a sunny disposition - when you live with pain every day - sometimes it just gets the better of you.

Simply put…..damn it, when you don’t feel good and are always hurting, sometimes you just can’t help coming off as a bitch.

If I’ve hurt anyone’s feelings recently……..I’m sorry.

Ending this post on a good note…….I was able, thru my earnings at Squidoo (all lenses & groups, royalties, & afilliate $) to not have to worry about making ends meet these last 2 months! I even had a little extra to give my son $ for his periodic company auction.

He spent less than $100, and I now have 3 new huge double pane energy efficient windows (valued at 3-$400 ea.) for my future indoor greenhouse (to put on my roof.) Plus he picked up 2 more smaller windows that I can use for the indoor greenhouse.

I will, at some time, insert the photos of what my family room used to look like, before needing a new roof for 3 years, which caused mold to form in the insulation, ceiling, and walls. We used to call it the ‘green room’ because of the furniture and carpet. Now it’s completely stripped, and will really be a ‘green room’ where I can grow vegetables in the winter.

Just finished designing and setting up the Natural Medicines blog. You’ll find a link to it on the right hand side. My ‘master plan’ is to divide all my Squidoo pages over 3 blogs, as per their topics. You lucky people are reading the blog that will be my ‘main’ hub. Little Debbies World will have articles about my other Squidoo lenses (that aren’t health or gardening topics), and my decidedly quirky opinions on my efforts to make a living online. Be prepared, many of those opinions may become rants

The DcInIowa blog is for all my Squidoo gardening and flower lenses, and in time, they’ll contain many articles.

The Natural Medicines blog lists all my health related Squidoo lenses, and boy, have I ever got a storehouse full of articles to periodically post to it! Bits, scraps, pieces of tidbits……..what the rotten FDA is currently up to, new health breakthroughs, bunches of stuff!

Now that I’ve just about got everything set up, I can start concentrating again on getting my Squidoo lenses up to par from the layout changes, and then post to each blog 2-3 times a week.

Been up all night, it’s about 6am now, and I’m finally getting tired. Hope I can sleep for more than 4 hours.

Had a really fun time tho, I found that I could use a widget….It’s farther down below, on the right. Shed quite a few tears going down memory lane while I was picking out songs for the widget. Only things not too cool about it is most of the tunes are not by the original artists, and I couldn’t find any of my favorite oldies, rock ‘n’ roll, or rock tunes. Didn’t get a damned thing done to any of my websites, but I must have needed the escape from them, as I thoroughly enjoyed finding so many REAL old Truck Driving songs, (my God, I found Phantom 309 and Giddy Up Go Daddy!) and lots of blues/rock that had me bobbing my head and chair dancin’. As I stated down there above the song player, I chose enough songs to have 4 playlists. This blog will only let me load one song player, and it holds 1 playlist. So if you become a regular, checking in to see what this whacko woman is up to next, you’ll get to enjoy (I hope) me switching playlists periodically.

But I don’t expect them to stay that way.

I’m happy to report that my image that was being copied and used on 4 websites, a MySpace background, and a person’s Squidoo lenses has been corrected. 1 website actually shut down, as I commented on how many other images on the site were possible copyright infringements. I had 1 hold-out for an extended time, as they claimed they received the image from someone who informed them they had permission to use it! Another website had the gall to doctor the photo and insert a copyright statement from who they ‘thought’ they got it from. Who they ‘thought’ they got it from is an accomplished artist, but my image is not on that website. The accomplished artist had nothing to do with my image.

You know, if you do a search on google images, most likely, google has inserted a warning that goes something on the order of ‘may be copyrighted material’ before you click on the image to see it enlarged. I don’t think anyone pays attention, and could really give a crap, which makes it very difficult for the owner of a copyright, as they have to search and find the culprits.

I’m not happy to report that certain people at Squidoo still retain their status. I did notice that one actually got their ‘wings’ back. YEA.

There’s an old saying ‘Fool me once, shame on you’, ‘Fool me twice, shame on me’. A much better rule of life would be to follow Scripture:

Oky dokey,

I’m gonna get this blog rolling, and within a couple of weeks, I should have it down pat, to where I can post what ever I want, and have all my categories I’ll post in set up.

My plan for this blog is to be able to write about my life, my problems, my work, my play, my feelings, and anything else that trips my trigger.

Today is crappy!

1. Squidoo servers and changes of ‘progress’ are messing up all my websites. 9 months of work on 90 sites and 7 groups.
2. The last website that is stealing my copyrighted image has yet to remove it. There was a total of 4 websites, some stupid kid that made a background of it for myspace, and a newbie Squidoo webmaster.
3. Getting PO’d from finding out that my efforts to clean Squidoo of all the rotten people that take advantage of others has been fruitless.
4. Everybody I know is bragging to me about the flowers and veggies they’ve started inside (I’m in the midwest) for when spring is actually here. It doesn’t matter what the calendar says Spring is, this is the midwest.
5. Hell, I don’t know what all else is pissing me off, but it is a very good reason to get myself a glass of wine.
